Life in Spain

¡Hola a todos!

Once again I find myself at work with nothing to do, eating the marshmallows out of my last box of Lucky Charms (thats right, I brought my box of Luckies to work, thats how I roll, yo), with a computer in front of me. My second article has just been published in this weeks edition of he newspaper, this one is a page long, about Halloween. It was freaking dificil to learn about Halloween in Spain, its not all trick or treating and parties with girls in slutty costumes over here, although that happens too. But it turned out pretty dece, after much editing by my boss, jajaja. (Dont worry mom, copies for you to see will be in the mail tomorrow, promise) SO now I will take this opportunity to take you through a typical week of mine in here in Spain.. (I bet this is boring, but who knows, maybe you care what I do here...)

Lunes: 8:00-10:00-Breakfast. I dont actually eat that ENIRE time, but that is when it is available to me, so I just eat MOST of that time...
10:05-clase de linguistica hispanica where mi profesora thinks for some reason that all the blondes in the class are named Laura...and, thereby, calls on me all the time, whether or not she means to...lucky me
11:30-clase de grámatica
12:55-clase de literatura where chances are I havent actually read the story that we are discussing, so I have come to writing songs during this period (Heather, I have a perfect one for ou, and I mean perfect.)
2.10-COMIDA! aka food y 4 pieces of pan con oil and vinigar. Exactly 4.
3:30-clase de conversación where I am absolutely never called on since the profesora has a speciality to pick on the boys, fine by me.
4:45-5:25 time to chill ...aka facebook time (if my internet is working at that moment, the connections a little sketch at the Fundación))
5:40-hop on the bus to go teach my little 8 year old buddy Luís how to speak english. He´s pretty much adorable. And he thinks its funny as hell when I make errors speaking Spanish.
7:40-Return to the fund and impatiently wait for dinner to open aka facebook time again
8:30-Cena!!! aka 4 más pieces of pan para Laura. Hell sí.
9:15 latin dance class, right now we are learning the cha-cha-cha!
The rest of the night-homework time aka more facebook, watching movies, talking to Brandon, being gangsta, watching friends via youtube, pretty much ANYTHING but mi tarea
Sooner or later-sleepy time

Martes: same breakfast situation
10-2-work at my newspaper, which consists of many press conferences and notes, a good amount of research, some article writing, and whole lot of going out to breakfast and coffee. And of course a lot of time for facebook, blogging, and reading all the newspapers about events back in the states. I also spend a lot of time chatting with the workers, they think I am funny because I have an accent and cuz my spanish is all broken and stuff and I think they are funny cuz they sing while they work and swear a lot, and swearing is funny when its in Spanish.. I pretty much am in love with my job.
2:10 Comida! mucho más pan para Laura!
2:45 clase japones. yeah, para realidadsies, I am taking japanes class IN SPAIN, its most defs the funnest class EVER
3:30-6:20 tiempo libre, and you know what that means...facebook!
6:20 the class I have along with my internship, I have interesting to say about it...lo siento
7:35 Waiting for cena, its almost time for pan!
8:30 you better believe I am all over that cafeteria, and the basket of pan
Facebook time
9:45 Salsa class with the Puerto RIcans, I am pretty sure I am moving to Puerto Rico after Spain, cuz these are the coolest people I have ever met. All they do is have fun all the time, if everyone in the world was like them...well...the world would be cool too. Right now we are working on our dance for the talent show, Freddy and I are gonna rock that!
Whenever we finish our salsa dance party-breakfast the next morning-some combo of homework, facebook, movies, sleeping, and being ganstas. In no particular order.

Miercoles-pretty much the same as lunes, but with latin dance class being replaced by yoga

Jueves-pretty much martes, except no japonese class, or salsa class, and insert some type of going out, most likely clubbing, on this night.

Viernes-Domingo-we pretty much travel every weekend, so there is no consistent pattern I have for ya. Trips so far are Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, and Amsterdam, we also have school sponsored exscursions we have done, but I cant remember the names right now, I will instagoogle that shit later. Future trips include Madrid, Morrocco, Dublin, Portugal, and Granada perhaps with more or less thrown in there, we´ll see how it goes...my bank account has been taking a beating lately so I will give it a little break, Kit Kat style.

Free Time en Toledo: There are a lot of things we seem to find time for amongst all this facebooking. Our favorites seem to be going out for coffee or drinks (free tapas!), getting ice cream ( I cant even describe how good it is here), watching Friends or ALias or and movies off ¨The List¨, shopping around Toledo, making daily trips to el mercado y/o the vending machine. One of the coolest thing we I have done was going to a real Spanish Bullfight in Madrid, con mi amigo Aaron. However, his description of the bullfight is so fantastic, I would never even dream of trying to try to surpass it. Thus, I encourage you to check out his blog (www.aaronlandin.blogspot.com) cuz is the exact story with pictures of our day, and it pretty much is freaking hilarious. Also, I spend time with my intercambio, his name is Emanuel. I practice Spanish, he practices english, its a good ol time. Hes pretty cool, not gonna lie.

Hmm....I am completely out of marshmallows now (mom and Brandon, take note of this, I am going to need another box pretty soon...) So I think that is a pretty clear indication of how long this blog actually is. So its probs time I finish it off. Paz afuera.

Great Laura. You're distracting me from doing my homework all the way from Spain. Just perfect.

(I miss you!)
